About

As this is my online book then it’s only natural that it has a few chapters.

Prologue.
In Australia’s top 10 ECD’s on Bestadsontv for the last 11 years, i’ve also judged and won awards at every major show in the world, including Cannes, D&AD, Clio, British Television Awards, Adfest, Campaign Press and Poster, Award and The One Show. I’ve always believed in the simple philosophy that you’re only as good as your next ad, not your last one.

Chapter 1. The Early Years.
I started my career at Ogivy London, working with now infamous novelist Salman Rushdie and then Indra Sinha, working across most of their accounts including Ford, The Milk Marketing Board, Shell and Phillips.

Chapter 2. The Premier league.
In 1986 i moved to the creative powerhouse of CDP in London , working with CD John O’Donnell on Olympus Cameras, Benson and Hedges, The Rainforest Foundation, Becks Beer, Boots the Chemist and Hamlet cigars.

Chapter 3. Happy Days.
In 1992 i joined the board of WCRS London, teaming up with the legendary Alan Tilby producing campaigns for Carling Black Label, BMW, The Prudential and the Church of England.

Chapter 4. Going down under.
1996 saw me swapping the shores of Blighty for those of Bondi when i joined DDB Sydney as Creative Director, working on campaigns for McDonalds ,VW, Austar,Hyundai, Dairy Farmers and Sanyo.

Chapter 5 Onwards and upwards.
After 10 happy years at DDB, where we enjoyed huge creative success ( We were named Agency of the Year no less than 6 times ) i felt it was time to seek a fresh challenge and i joined Whybin TBWA Sydney as CD, working on Visa, St George Bank, ebay, Rabo Direct, Nissan, Pedigree and The Sydney Morning Herald.

Chapter 6. Taming the wild west.
In 2010 i was lured to The Brand Agency in Perth working on Curtin University, Perth Zoo, Woodside, The Drug and Alcohol Office and RAC. This year we were named Campaign Brief Western Australia’s Agency of the Year and are currently ranked 8th on the Bestads Australian Creative Agency league table. In October 2013,i decided it was time to return to Sydney, where several new exciting business opportunities had arisen.

Chapter 7. Exciting times.
Having returned to Sydney, i set up my own agency with old partner and friend Matt Kemsley. We named it Matterhorn and moved into a lovely Georgian building in the Rocks. We already have 6 or 7 signature clients including Pfizer, The AFR, QuickSelect, Advil, Centrum, ASCA, Royal Wolf, rediATM and Cuscal. We focus on delivering creative business solutions with a small, like minded bunch of passionate staff and whilst doing great work should never be easy, it should always be fun …both of which we’re striving to excel at!
